Burj Khalifa

There was many obstacles that came to building are skyscrapers today. The first one was stairs no one really likes stairs and, it was just to exhausting and long to walk up that many stairs. They then though of the idea the elevator but, if the rope broke that pulled the elevator up would fall and people could die. They had this idea of safety bars when the elevator rope broke than bars would clamp the elevator bars and slow the fall where they eventually would stop which would keep people from being hurt. The next obstacle was space and sturdiness. Stone was nice but, the higher your tower got the  less space there was inside the tower. Then came the idea of steel it was skinny and, strong and it worked well plus the tower had lots of more space in the inside.

Then of course came another obstacle safety from  natural disasters. Which from that came the idea of an exoskeleton. Putting what they usually put on the inside of the tower on the inside of the tower on the outside of the tower. Which that helped a lot make it safe from rain and other natural nature weather. The last main obstacle they had to think of is what machine can they use that will help the tower be taller. Out of that came the idea of the Kangaroo Crane  the higher the tower went the higher the Kangaroo Crane would go by boosting itself up. Those are mainly most of the big obstacles we had to overcome to get to the skyscrapers we have today. The biggest one we have today is the Burj Khalifa. I hope you learned more about how skyscrapers were made and how cool the ideas of making them were!
